The Financial Anarchy And Uncertainty Surrounding Derby County And The Possible Aftermath of The Mismanagement.

The recent speculations around the club owing to the rumors of their failure to comply with the financial fair play has shaken the grounds among the fans as they might have to pack their bags for a rather horrid journey in the third tier of English football.

Derby County future on halt with EFL fight

A £100,000 fine was slammed onto Derby in addition to the club being asked to resubmit three years' worth of accounts. And if things were to turn out for worse, with the club's financial statement showing more than £39million loss over the span of three years might see the club breaching the Financial Fair Play and face points penalty. With Derby finishing 21st in the league under player-coach Wayne Rooney, the point penalty will only mean one thing for the club.

With possible relegation for Derby in mind, EFL has announced that it has planned an interchangeable fixture list for the next season Derby and Wycombe Wanderers while the disciplinary process sees its end. The news about the interchangeable fixture was announced around Wednesday night, just hours before the schedule for the next season was published.

The drop to the lower tier will also mean that the Rams will see a drop in their TV money of about £6 million, added with triggering relegation clause with their sponsor plus a decline in the crowd could throw them in the thick of £10million revenue drop.-according to Kieran Maguire, a football finance expert from the ''Price of Football Podcast''.

Following the punishment due to the obscurity about their financial report and amortization of a player's value across the length of his contract, twitter has taken a hit on the football club and the people behind the crest, mocking and joking about the current situation it has fallen into.

The decision surrounding the issue with Derby will also put a great deal of pressure on Wycombe Wanderers as the confusion surrounding their chance to stay up in the Championship for the next season is putting their recruitment and financial plannings in jeopardy. If things go worse for Derby, they might have to end up paying compensation to Wycombe for the inconvenience following the messy situation.

There was a twist to the story as Derby came out with a statement on Thursday morning, stating that the club is willing to accept the fine but, the club cannot legally be relegated because the season has already ended. They also said that even though EFL wanted a point deduction from the club, the independent panel has not taken any initiative to give any points penalty to the club so far.

It doesn't stop there, the situation gets even muddier with the involvement of another party in the form of the auditors who approved the change of the amortization policy. The auditor in charge of the situation has been found out to be a ''Derby fan'' according to the personal profile on his website, adding more fuel to the already explosive fire Derby finds itself in.

The upcoming season is about to start on 7th August and the appeal from both parties has to be in by 18th August, which will eventually lead to a  more chaotic situation as both Derby and Wycombe will then find themselves playing in what seems some awkward Championship fixtures and then have to move into the EFL League One in theory.

With the battle between Derby and EFL currently in a stalemate, the club is also fighting with criticism over a takeover attempt from Spanish Businessman Erik Alonso, a director of a company house that consists of a company that has £2 in its bank account.

EFL asked Eric Alonso to pay an initial £35million deposit to prove that he has the resources to carry through the deal to which, no answer has been received from the businessman.

Watching their club in a number of difficult financial and legal turmoils, Derby fans will be hoping to avoid a similar situation like Sunderland and look forward to better days of sleeping with the club gradually losing grounds with absurd abnormalities in their structure following the mismanagement.
