Ethan Horvath Joins Nottingham Forest as Their New Goalkeeping Option Ahead of Championship 21/22 Season.

United States men's national team goalkeeper Ethan Horvath committed himself to Nottingham Forrest, announced by the club on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper spent the past five seasons at Club Brugge in the Belgian First Division. He started 28 games in 2018/19, but only three in the past two seasons combined.

US mens national team goalkeeper Ethan Horvath joins Championship side Nottingham Forest on a free transfer from Belgium club Club Brugge.

Horvath has seven appearances besides his name for the U.S. senior team. He came on as a substitute in the CONCACAF Nations League final against Mexico in June, saving a penalty near the end of extra time in a 3-2 United States victory.

Nottingham Forest competes in the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football. The club has finished 17th last season. The club has been playing in the Championship for the last 14 years and is fighting desperately to improve its chances for promotion.

After failing to find much game time in Belgium over the past two seasons, a move to the Championship might open up Horvath's shot to start games consistently. Who knows, a run of regular games and brilliant performances might even see him competing for a place in the U.S. national team.

Nottingham Forest is yet to make an impact on the transfer market this summer. With a good number of players departing the club ahead of this season, the trees will be looking to grab a number of attacking players as well as some defenders in the upcoming days.
