What to Expect From Crystal Palace's ''Bargain'' Signing Under New Manager Patrick Vieira.

The EFL Young Player of the Season has played every game for Reading in the last season, scoring on 7 occasions.

A five-year contract will keep the ex-reading winger in Selhurst Park up until 2026.

Michael Olise signs for Crystal Palace from Reading for a reported fee of £5.5m.

According to Crystal Palace's official Twitter page, The 19-year-old winger has been signed for a sum of only £5.5m by the club from Reading. With additional fees and clauses, the deal can sum up to anywhere between £8m or higher.

The winger has been handed the no.7 jersey by the club which formerly belonged to Max Meyer who is currently a free agent.

With this 'bargain' transfer, as many fans would like to claim, Crystal Palace has signed two of the most exciting English prospects for a combined fee of only £25m over the course of two years.

Olise is a great technical player with brilliant skills with the ball. He is the quickest player to get off-the-mark and tries to make the most out of his gifted flair.

He is hugely versatile — able to play in a number of different positions as well as having great dribbling qualities to keep the defenders always guessing.

The left-footed attacker plays on the right side of the pitch, often cutting inside to look for shooting chances with his preferred foot, or drifting wide to stretch the game.

What Patrick Vieira will be looking for though, will be the attacking midfielder's exceptional ability to find out his teammate. The midfielder managed 12 assists last season in the Championship with Reading, helping them to reach 7th position, missing the playoffs only by a fraction.

The midfielder likes to operate in the middle of the park, delivering quality balls to the attackers as well as trying long shots himself. We have seen him using the outside of his left foot to feed Lucas Joao with several assists.

The French U-18 international operates behind the attacking players in the final-third diamond. Often running with the ball to get past a number of opponents in the midfield.

Apart from using his dribbling skills, the attacker also likes to knock the ball past his opponent when he is playing on the wide areas, thanks to his incredible speed.

Olise is also a capable set-piece taker. Assisting a number of times from both corners and indirect free-kicks.

With Andros Townsend leaving the club after the end of his contract, it is likely that Michael Olise will feature on the right side of the pitch alongside Wilfred Zaha and Cristian Benteke to lead the Eagles front line.

Rumors about a potential loan deal with Arsenal starlet Emile Smith Rowe is also hanging in the air as Crystal Palace is still operating in the transfer market to secure more recruitments ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
