Why Aaron Ramsdale is One of the Most Sought After Goalkeeper of the Premier League?

The goalkeeper's reluctance to let in goals has made him one of the biggest transfer targets for the top clubs of England and Arsenal have set their eyes off on the 23 years old shot-stopper.

Arsenal is expected to make a third offer with an initial fee of £18m plus add-ons leading up to a possible £25m bid.

Making his Premier League debut at only the age of 21, Aaron Ramsdale was one of the few players that shined in Bournemouth's relegation campaign in the 2019/20 season.

Ramsdale was quick to catch the spotlight as the shot-stopper proved to be a gigantic obstacle behind a shaky Bournemouth defense, featuring 37 times in his first-ever season in the Premier League. His brilliance on the pitch was justified enough to win him the club's Player of the Year by the Bournemouth fans.

The goalkeeper's superb run didn't end just there with the relegation of Bournemouth. Ramsdale was yet again named Sheffield United's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year after an £18.5 million move from Bournemouth.

Even though the victim of yet another relegation campaign, Ramsdale has proven that he is more than capable to guard the net of any top Premier League outfit, and Arsenal is more than keen to sign the English keeper to strengthen their shot-stopping department.

Ramsdale has represented England at almost all levels. His performance caught the eye of England coach Gareth Southgate and the keeper was called in to be included in the England team squad for Euro 2020 after an unfortunate hip issue from Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson forced him to withdraw from the tournament and open the gates for the Sheffield United keeper.

He is yet to make his senior England debut and with time on his side, pundits are hopeful about the long-term service he could provide the Three Lions.

So far in the summer, Arsenal have seen two bids for Aaron Ramsdale turned down by Sheffield United as rumors suggest that the club is not willing to let go of the goalkeeper for any less than £30m.
