The Transfer Battle Over Adam Armstrong And the Future of The Blackburn Forward.

Southampton is in for a rough battle against Everton for securing the deal of Adam Armstrong as the Blackburn forward is keen to play in the greener pastures of the Premier League.

EPL clubs in race to bid for Adam Armstrong.

Bagging 28 goals in 40 appearances last season, Adam Armstrong has caught the eyes of a number of Premier League clubs last season, and so far, it is Southampton who is leading the race to secure the contract of the forward.

The Saints have reached out with a potential £10m offer to Blackburn who was in no way amused by the sum compared to the value Armstrong possesses.

The offer was initially rejected as Blackburn believes that Armstrong is worth more than just £10 m.

Reports from multiple sources have indicated that the likes of Everton, West Ham, and Norwich are the other interested parties who are all in for a battle to get the striker following his tremendous form in front of goal in the previous campaign.

Blackburn will be more than happy to cash in on Armstrong as the forward's contract is running down next year which will then lead him to leave the club for free.

Southampton will be a bit desperate in pursuit of signing Armstrong as Danny Ings has turned down the latest contract extension of a 4-year deal offered by the club. With the Saints forward's contract ending the next year, Southampton will likely look for a potential replacement in Adam Armstrong if no further agreement can be reached with Danny Ings.

Armstrong will have to face tough competition in the squad with the likes of Danny Ings, Che Adams,  and Obafemi unlikely to let the Englishman have an easy time to compete for the starting line-up.

It is expected that Southampton will go back with a second bid for the striker as the first bid happened to just taste the water for the deal.
