UK Government and Premier League Demanded to Make Arbitration Transparent by Amanda Staveley ahead of Newcastle Takeover.

Financier Amanda Staveley has called on the government to act urgently in making the Premier League's decision over the future ownership of  Newcastle United transparent.

In an interview with Sky Sports News, the Newcastle United suitor tells that it is in the government's best interests to increase the transparency around football ownership debates.

The financier leading a proposed £340m takeover of the club has written an open letter to Tracey Crouch MP about the Premier League's lack of transparency and accountability.

A potential takeover of £340m is on the cards for the  Tyneside club with the proposal currently in the hands of an arbitration panel.

Some pundits are claiming the Premier League's approach to this issue ''cowardly'', with former Leeds United forward Noel Whelan urging the Premier League authority to ''do the right thing''.

Whelan insists that Premier League must disclose their findings as the Magpies had to do the same last year.

With all the debates due to be held in private, the club is unhappy with the Premier Leagues' approach and their lack of respect as there are barely any updates about the situation.

In her letter, Ms. Staveley heavily criticizes the use of confidential arbitration processes to resolve disputes within football. She also added that it might be up to question why this model of the enclosure is preferred by the authority responsible for regulating the sport if there is no valid reason to hide anything.

Current Newcastle club owner Mike Ashley was also vocal about the incident as he went on to urge Premier League to take the arbitration process into the public domain and demanded transparency over their handling of the failed bid last week.

The Premier League has declined to comment on the issue so far.
